PGA Head Professional - Paddy McGuirk

Head Professional Paddy has a long history at County Louth Golf Club. His father Michael McGuirk, the club pro, introduced him to golf as a young boy and from an early age Paddy developed a real passion for the game. At the age of 15 Paddy made the transition into the professional ranks, a career that saw him spend 8 years on the European Tour. His most notable achievement was winning the 1973 Carroll’s International (a tournament which has now been replaced by the Irish Open). As a qualified PGA professional Paddy also competed in the PGA’s Irish Region winning numerous titles, including the Irish PGA stroke play and the Irish PGA match play twice.
Paddy still enjoys playing the game but in 1980 turned his focus to becoming the club professional at County Louth GC. His new love is teaching the game to players of all ability’s passing many years of experience onto them, he also has a well-stocked shop filled with leading brands.
